In Aba, Abia State, Chinedu finished both his primary and secondary school. He graduated from the Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu, with a degree in mass communication and a Higher National Diploma (HND) in theatre arts after finishing his secondary education (IMT). He originally intended to become a lawyer after finishing his studies at IMT, but in 1998 he decided to pursue a career in cinema acting and appeared in initially supporting roles. He made his acting debut in a small part in the 1998 movie Evil Men. In 2004, he applied to the esteemed New York Film Academy.
