Career
At the University of Lagos, where she joined the campus fellowship choir, George started her musical career. She was a former member of the defunct band Kush. The popular single “Ijoba Orun” from her debut album, Forever In My Heart, was released in 2008. She received numerous nominations and prizes for the album. She received the Voice of the Year award at the 2008 Nigeria Music Awards. In the 2010 edition of the industry-wide “Headies” awards, now known in Nigeria as the “Hip-Hop World Awards,” she won Best Vocals Performance (Female). At the 2011 Africa Gospel Music Awards held in London, UK, she was named the Best African Female Gospel Artiste. In addition, George was nominated for Trailblazer of the Year at the Africa Gospel Music Awards.
