Alecia Beth Moore was born on September 8, 1979, in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, to insurance salesman James Moore and emergency department nurse Judith Moore (née Kugel). She identifies as Jewish and has characterized herself as “Irish-German-Lithuanian-Jew.” She was born a healthy baby, although she struggled with asthma throughout her early years. Pink’s parents started experiencing marital issues while she was a toddler, and they split before she turned ten.
Career
When Pink was around 14 years old, she started playing in Philadelphia nightclubs. Around this time, she chose “Pink” as her stage name.
