His portrayal in the film The Figurine earned him the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in 2010. With the 2019 movie Living in Bondage: Breaking Free, he made his directorial debut. He later went on to direct the Nollywood classic Rattle Snake: The Ahanna Story, a remake of Rattlesnake (1995).
