She is the first solo artist to spend 12 weeks at the top of the Billboard Christian Songwriter list. She became the first Nigerian to win the Award when her song “Way Maker” garnered three nominations and took home the Song of the Year prize at the 51st GMA Dove Awards. While on tour in the US in 2021, she was honored by the US Congress and earned the BMI song of the year award.

Early life
Sinach is the second daughter of seven children and is from the state of Ebonyi in eastern Nigeria. In 1989, while serving as a staff member and choir member in Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s Church, Sinach began singing for family and friends as a hobby. She received her degree in physics from the University of Port Harcourt in the Nigerian state of Rivers. After completing her university degree, she thought about leaving Nigeria, but Pastor Chris Oyakhilome recommended against it.
Personal life
Sinach wed Joseph Egbu in 2014 at her local Church Christ Embassy. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome announced the birth of Sinach’s first child, Amyoli Mbilase, on November 17, 2019, during the LIMA Awards.
Musical career
Sinach claimed that as a child, she dreamed of performing in front of enormous crowds, but aside from joining the choir and serving as a church administrator, she didn’t actively pursue a musical career. Before Chapter One, Sinach’s debut album, was published in 2008, she had already composed a number of songs. In 2008, her song “This Is Your Season” won Song of the Year.
