Early life
In the Imo State town of Ngor Okpala, Stephanie Okereke was born. Of the eight children born to Mary and Chima Okereke, she is the sixth. In Delta State, she finished both her primary and senior school. She received a degree in English and Literary Studies from the University of Calabar in Cross River State where she attended school.
Career
She appeared in two Nollywood films in 1997 while still a teen: Compromise 2 and Waterloo. Okereke finished third in the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria beauty contest in 2002. Out of the eight nominations she earned for the 2003 Reel Awards for “Best Actress – English” and “Best Actress of the Year 2003,” Okereke took home two prizes the following year. When Okereke received her diploma from the New York Film Academy in 2007, she went on to direct, write the story, produce, and star in the film Through the Glass.
